Ironing table structure analysis
1.0) Tittle: Ironing table structure analysis
2.0) Objective:
- To analyze the weak point of the Ironing table.
- To improve the weak point of the Ironing table

Figure 1: Ironing table
3.0) Structure description of the Ironing table
The ironing table is form by cross triangle shape to support the table.
Dimension table = 48 in x 15 in.
Round shape tube = 22mm diameter
Height = 1 meter.
4.0) Weakness of the Ironing table
1) Due to the basement of the support is small than the upper part of the ironing table, the table will unstable when the load is applies on the table.
2) The largest deflection at the whole structure is at the end of the plane of table; because of the support is unbalance to whole plane of table. Figure 2 is shown.
- Because of the support is not equilibrium so the maximum deflection will place at the end of the plane of table. If we analysis the plane of table the plane of table will have a bending moment of stress transformation.

Figure 2: Displacement
3) The weak point of the structure are the plane of table where is the region that starting deformation, where is the black colour were show in the figure 2. Where we know if the load applies at the plane of table the Point A will have a bending stress transformation and the Point B will have a transverse shear. Due to the two stress transformation the structure will collapse at the black color region.

5.0) How to improve the critical part?
In my opinion the ironing table can improve by reducing the length of the plane of table or make the support of the ironing table become equivalent. Because the deflection can be reduce by changing the material, dimension or shape of the structure.
6.0) Conclusion
In conclusion, the study is very interesting, the critical part mostly is place at the region that the end of the support. To improve the weak point we can change the shape, dimension and the material of the structure. Beside there the weak point also can improve by changing the support of the structure.
